A leader needs to be the guy that stands out, be ridiculous, be crazy. Be easy to follow.
In this 3 minute clip you will see a movement start from one crazy guy that is dancing. The first follower is crucial- he has balls and shows everyone else how to follow.
Watch the leader interact with him and dance with him- it is no longer about the leader. We now have two crazy MOFO's looking ridiculous. Without the first follower, there is no leader- this is why the first follower is so important. ( A leader in their own right!)
Then another follow jumps in, this shows that the first follow has credibility in following the crazy dancing guy. This is no longer 2 crazy MOFO's dancing, it is now a crowd- and as we all know a crowd is NEWS! People stand up and take notice.
Now a movement needs to be public, because followers follow followers not leaders.
Why is this crazy dancing guy so similar to any leadership role?
Here are some points:
💡Be easy to follow
🔈Leadership is over-glorified.
🔈Yes it started with the crazy dancing guy, and he'll get all the credit, but you saw what really happened:
🔈It was the first follower that transformed a crazy dancing guy into a leader.
🔈There is no movement without the first follower.
We're told we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective.
The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow.
When you find a crazy MOFO doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in.💃💃🕺🕺
